Tangent Quattro Mk2 Wi-Fi Internet Radio
With radio becoming more and more versatile every day, Tangent has tweaked its popular and critically acclaimed Quattro Internet radio.
The new Tangent Quattro Mk2 adds an FM radio tuner, an Ethernet RJ45 port in addition to the in-built Wi-Fi and support for the new WPA2 Wi-Fi security protocol. It's retro styling look great and is certainly something that you would love to have sitting on a prominent shelf anywhere in your house.
The Tangent has three major functions; internet radio streaming, file streaming from a networked PC and a built in clock that gets its timing from an online time signal.
The first feature is the one we really care about, but it is good to see file streaming included in the package. The Quattro can connect to a PC (not a Mac) on the same network and stream music files from its hard drive in a range of common formats.
Finding a radio stream is a simple matter, the station information comes from reciva.com and you can browse by location or genre. There are thousands of stations to select from, many are broadcast as Real and WMA streams so you have to choose between them. The Tangent doesn't care as it cope easily with both.
The Tangent Quattro Mk2 Wi-Fi Internet Radio is a handily compact, tidily finished device and it's logical and easy to use.
